Generic FAQs
The answers to your questions
Where is your studio based?
My maternity, newborn, and family photography studio is based in Chichester, West Sussex (PO19 6ER). There’s free parking available right outside, making it super easy for you to arrive stress-free - especially with little ones in tow!

The studio is around a 20-minute walk from Chichester train station, so it’s also accessible if you’re arriving by public transport.

It is only a 15 minute walk to the city centre and many families like to make the most of their session day by heading into town afterwards for a little lunch or a quiet coffee - it’s the perfect way to keep that lovely, feel-good energy going!
What should we wear and do we need to bring any clothes for our session?
For babies aged 0–3 months, I have a small selection of beautiful outfits available for you to borrow, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own as well. We can mix and match as you like to create the perfect look for your little one.

For family photos, I recommend keeping things simple and timeless - neutral tones work beautifully and help create that soft, natural feel you see throughout my portfolio. Try to avoid bold patterns, bright colours, or large logos, as these can be distracting in your final images.

That said, if you’d like to bring a little personality to your session with your favourite outfits, please do! Just aim to coordinate with each other and avoid clashing tones so everything feels cohesive and calm in your gallery.

When will I receive the watermarked gallery for viewing?
I aim to have your viewing gallery ready within 1 to 2 weeks after your session. These images will have a light, initial edit so you can make your selections at your leisure.

Once you’ve chosen your favourites, I’ll then carefully hand-edit each selected image to ensure they’re polished and perfect. If there are any small tweaks or specific requests you’d like before I begin the final edits, you’re very welcome to let me know - I want everything to be just right for you.

Maternity FAQs
The answers to your questions
What can I expect during my maternity session?
Maternity photography is a beautiful way to celebrate this special chapter. I’ll guide you through a relaxed, natural session, capturing you, your bump, and, if you wish, your family.
When should I book my maternity session?
I recommend booking your maternity session after your 20-week scan.
When will my maternity session take place?
I recommend scheduling your maternity session between 28 and 34 weeks - ideally late enough for a beautifully round bump, but not so late that you’re feeling too uncomfortable. Every pregnancy is unique, so we’ll find the timing that feels just right for you.
How long will my maternity session last?
Sessions usually last around an hour, depending on outfit changes and whether older siblings are joining. If little ones are involved, we take our time - there’s no pressure to make toddlers “perform.” The focus is on keeping everyone relaxed and happy.
Can my partner and other children come to my maternity session?
Absolutely. Many mums-to-be choose to make their maternity session a special moment just for themselves- it can be incredibly empowering to celebrate your body and this stage of life. Others love including their partner or children for those tender, joy-filled moments together. There’s no “right” way - whoever joins, we’ll create beautiful images you’ll treasure for years to come.
Do I need to bring any clothes to my maternity session?
Soft, timeless colours - like neutrals, whites, and gentle pastels - photograph beautifully and let the focus stay on you and your bump.

Flowy dresses add a romantic feel while more fitted styles elegantly showcase your bump. For a relaxed look, jeans with a cosy jumper work perfectly, or jeans and a buttoned up shirt or bandeau top are ideal for those stunning bare bump portraits.

We’ll always have time for an outfit change or two, so bring along a few favourites to mix up your look. Above all, wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident, these images are all about you and your bump.

Newborn FAQs

What can I expect during my newborn session?
Newborn sessions are always led entirely by your baby - I work at their pace, never the other way around.

My style is a gentle mix of lightly posed and natural images, focusing on real connection without any fuss or distractions. If baby wants a cuddle with Mum, that’s what we’ll capture. If they’re happiest curled up on Dad’s shoulder or stretching out on their tummy, we simply follow their lead.

There’s absolutely no pressure for ‘perfect’ poses -because the most beautiful photos come when everyone is comfortable, relaxed, and just being themselves.
When should I book my newborn session?
I recommend booking your newborn session after your 20-week scan. It’s such a lovely milestone in your pregnancy - and a perfect moment to start planning how you’ll capture those precious early days once your little one arrives!
When will my newborn photoshoot take place?
I’ll pencil you in for around 7 days after your due date, as the ideal time for newborn photos is typically between 7 and 14 days old - when your baby is still wonderfully curled up and sleepy. Of course, little ones rarely arrive on schedule, so we stay in touch and adjust the date once your baby is here.

It’s all very flexible to ensure we capture them at just the right moment.
How long will my newborn session last?
Every baby is different, so session lengths can vary - typically anywhere between 1 to 3 hours. If your little one snoozes peacefully throughout, we may be finished closer to the hour mark. But if they need extra cuddles or a few long feeds, we simply take our time. I never set strict time limits on newborn sessions; they unfold at your baby’s pace, and there’s absolutely no rush.
Can my other children come to my newborn session?
Yes - absolutely! Including siblings in your newborn session is not only welcome, it’s encouraged. It can be such a special way to help them feel involved in this exciting new chapter. Sessions with siblings may be a little more lively (and a bit more unpredictable!), but that’s all part of the fun.

I always begin by photographing older siblings first - giving them their moment to shine before we move on to those sweet sibling and full family shots.

If possible, I recommend arranging for older siblings to be collected partway through the session. While it’s so special to include them - and I always make sure they feel important and involved - newborn sessions can be quite long, and little ones often become tired, bored, or overwhelmed after a while.

Once we’ve captured those lovely sibling and family moments, having a quieter space allows us to really focus on your newborn. It also gives you a chance to relax, soak up those fleeting newborn cuddles, and enjoy some calm - something that can feel rare in those early weeks!

Family Session FAQs
The answers to your questions
What can I expect during my family photoshoot?
Family photography sessions are genuinely so much fun!
It’s never too late to capture beautiful moments with your loved ones - many families even choose to book annually, and it’s truly amazing to look back and see how everyone has grown and changed over time.

The sessions are relaxed and natural, with very little posing. We might go for a gentle walk in a beautiful outdoor location, or you’re welcome to join me in my home studio. We’ll simply enjoy each other’s company while I quietly capture the magic unfolding around us.
When should I book my family photoshoot?
There’s truly no better time than now! If you have a favourite season in mind - whether it’s the fresh blooms of spring or the golden light of autumn - I recommend getting in touch as early as possible. My calendar can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons, so it’s best to enquire in advance to secure your preferred date.
How long will my family photoshoot last?
Family sessions typically last between 1 to 1.5 hours. That said, the exact timing can vary depending on everyone’s mood, energy levels, and how much fun we’re having! My approach is relaxed and flexible, allowing plenty of time for natural moments to unfold.
